Where Is Your Focus?

Where is your focus? I have been thinking a lot about this lately and I feel like it's something that we don't give enough attention to. The things that we think about most, or the things that consume our minds are what we see in the world. Just like the picture says it's "easy to spot a red car when you're always thinking of a red car". The things we think of most are what we typically see, notice or find. So what is on YOUR mind? Where is your focus? Is it something that is leading you to positive outcomes, or is it something negative that is sucking the life out of you and making you unhappy?
This makes me think of the Baader–Meinhof phenomenon or frequency bias. This is when, after someone notices something for the first time, they have a tendency to notice it more frequently. By noticing it more frequently they come to think that it is something that happens on a regular basis.
So, if you are looking for the best in yourself, others, or the world around you, you may have a tendency to believe that there is more good out there and things will work together for your good. On the flip side, if your focus is on something negative, the bad attitude of a coworker, something annoying somebody does frequently, etc. you may think that life sucks and there isn't much good out there.
So I ask you again, where is your focus? Is it where it should be, or do you need to shift it? I think we all fall into the trap from time to time and we need to shift our focus to something better, something positive. Look for the good, look for an opportunity, look for reasons to be happy! Tell yourself that you deserve to be happy and that there is good in the world. It's not meant to be a blindfold to the bad that happens, and it won't take away the bad things that happen, or are currently happening, in your life, but changing your outlook changes how you think and feel. It gives you light at the end of the tunnel and helps you see that there is good around you and that good can & will happen TO YOU. Shift your focus!
